James L. Sherley is a stem cell biologist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a graduate of Harvard who writes in The Boston Globe that the Harvard Institutional Review Board decision to “enter the race to be first to produce embryonic stem cells from cloned human embryos” is both scientifically unsupportable and immoral. “The members of Harvard's review board should fear the temptations of the line they're crossing, reconsider their decision, and withdraw from a race that will occur on a track littered with innocent human lives.”
